Graeme Humphrey is a Professor of piano at the Royal Academy of Music,
travels widely as an examiner and adjudicator, and maintains a large
private teaching practice in London.
Anthony Williams has a well-established reputation
as a pianist, Senior Moderator for ABRSM and Head of Instrumental Music
at Radley College.
Madoka Nakadai has performed
at many concerts and festivals in Japan and China, and is well known
for her recitals both live and broadcast on radio and TV.
Tutors
Anthony Williams and Graeme Humphrey, with

plus daily ensemble sessions Preparation No set repertoire. Bring
current solo pieces to work on and possibly perform. Piano duet and
ensemble music will be made available during the week. Performance Selected students may have the chance to perform in one of the evening
concerts. All students perform in the final Friday morning concert
While this course is designed to encourage talented young pianists
to expand their technical skill, it will also develop your musical
comradeship with other like-minded young musicians. You will receive
a one-to-one lesson every morning; afternoons are devoted to individual
practice and to the coaching of ensemble music. You should bring
the pieces you are currently studying, and should expect to play
a piece of your own choice at the first session.
Entertainment
Recreational activities will be organised outside
teaching hours, including an outing on Wednesday afternoon for all
students under the age of 18 (optional for 18 - 21-year-olds)
House-parents
Outside teaching hours, house-parents will be on duty
at all times.
